Albert Lea · Alden · Emmons · Freeborn County

One bank for the house and the ground.

We do not ship loan applications off to an anonymous number-cruncher and leave you waiting in limbo. We make loan decisions locally, right here at the bank.

Both sides of one place

The house and the ground.

A farm family should not have to keep a personal bank on one side of town and an ag lender somewhere else. Both sit here, with the same people.

The house

Personal banking

Checking, savings, certificates of deposit and IRAs. Debit cards for the digital wallet, online bill pay, and the VIC Club for customers 50 and over.

What the house needs

The ground

Business & ag banking

Operating lines, farm land loans and equipment financing. Business checking, cash management and remote deposit capture.

What the ground needs

The operating year

Cash flow does not arrive in twelve equal months.

A farm year has a shape. So does the credit that carries it. Here is how the shelf lines up against the season you are actually standing in.

April to May

Planting

Seed, fertiliser and fuel go out the door long before anything comes back. An operating line of credit covers the gap, with local approval and flexible terms.

June to August

Growing

The season when equipment breaks and a decision cannot wait two weeks. Farm equipment financing, decided here.

September to November

Harvest

Money comes in all at once. Certificates of deposit and money market savings hold it until it is needed rather than letting it sit flat.

December to March

Carryover

Land comes up. Plans get made. Farm land loans, and the conversation about next year with someone who knows this year.

After you apply

Every bank says local decisions. Here is what ours means.

01

You talk to a lender, not a queue

Discuss what you need with a loan specialist before anything is filled in. Apply online, by mail, or in person at any of the three locations.

02

It is reviewed here

The application is not shipped off. It is reviewed carefully and quickly, in this building, by people who know the ground it is written about.

03

The reviewers own the bank

Security Bank has been employee owned since 2006. The person weighing your file is an owner of the business making the loan.

Since 1906

Four facts you can check.

1906

Original charter, in Manchester, Minnesota

2006

Employee owned, one of two in Minnesota at the time

3

Towns, with a lobby and a phone number in each

FDIC

Member FDIC and an Equal Housing Lender

Plain answers

Questions people actually ask.

Who actually approves my loan?

We make loan decisions locally, right here at the bank. Applications are not shipped off to an anonymous number-cruncher, and you are not left waiting in limbo for a decision.

Can I keep my personal accounts and my farm operating line at the same bank?

Yes, and that is the point of a full service community bank. Checking, savings, certificates of deposit and IRAs sit alongside operating lines, farm land loans and equipment financing in one relationship.

What does employee owned mean for me?

Security Bank Minnesota has been an ESOP, an employee owned company, since 2006. At that time there was only one other employee owned bank in Minnesota and only two others in the nation.

Which branches have an ATM?

Albert Lea and Emmons both have an ATM, available 24 hours a day.

Call the branch nearest your ground.

Three lobbies, three phone numbers, and a person on the other end of each. Tell us whether it is the house, the ground, or both.
